As many of you may know, I took over ownership of Akari in August 2016. Since then, there have been so many exciting things that have happened! I love being at the center of Portland’s Old Port and getting to see all of the changes and development that are happening here in the city – and I’m so thrilled for Akari to be a part of it!
Fun fact: Akari has been open as long as I’ve been in the beauty industry, 30 years– that’s a long time!

A Fresh New Website
If our website looks different – that’s because it is! It’s been freshly re-designed to better reflect Akari’s timelessly classic style. And of course, we wanted it to be much more user-friendly. You can now purchase gift cards online, learn more about exclusive Akari rewards, and explore the vast array of services we offer. Our new blog will give you helpful tips, the newest beauty buzz, inspiration, and more!
Did you know? The MediSpa at Akari offers the latest innovations in anti-aging and rejuvenating skin and body treatments!
And, don’t forget to meet the Akari team! Learn more about their specialized skills and unique backgrounds. Recently, when one of our clients called to schedule a cut, she was told that her regular stylist was on vacation. Being able to browse staff profiles to choose a stylist that she felt would be a good fit was incredibly helpful.
