Jeffrey Blais

Hailing from Maine, Jeffrey holds a unique appreciation for beauty. Having grown up watching his mother style hair for her family and friends, he’s been honing his eye for all things beautiful since a very young age. In the early stages of his career, Jeff worked in Lewiston and then moved to Seattle. Working in one of the city’s top salons, he developed his passion for teaching. In 1999 he settled back in Maine and joined the Akari team where he became one of the brightest talents in the business. During the past 17 years Jeffrey has styled hair at New York Fashion Week, appeared in various magazines and trained in Paris, New York and Los Angeles. His greatest passion, however, lies in creating gorgeous and expertly personalized color to enhance his clients’ natural beauty and haircut in a way nobody else can. In 2016 Jeffrey jumped into the next part of his career when he purchased Akari, proudly becoming the new owner. He enjoys channeling his years of expertise and distinct sense of style into Akari, Portland’s premier full service salon and spa.
